Luxembourg was one of the countries to participate in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Since then, it has won the contest a total of 5 times: in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983. Luxembourg quit the contest in 1994 and hasn't returned since although there is a rumour that they may make an appearance in the future, possibly 2008.
