Mad Man Manson is the ring name of an Irish professional wrestler who is best known for his work in Irish Whip Wrestling (IwW).
The Madman's gimmick is exactly that a madman, who is the product of an aggression displacement therapy (ADT) programme recently released/escaped from New Bedlam Mental Reform Centre/Asylum. Manson's popular crazy gimmick often sees him wheeled to the ring in a wheelchair while wearing a straight-jacket; Manson often wears the jacket anytime he is outside the ring.
Manson has travelled the world competing in front of crowds from the United States to New Zealand and Australia. He also appears regularly in the United Kingdom for such promotions as Real Quality Wrestling, Newcastle's Main Event Wrestling and Wales' Celtic Wrestling.
[edit] Career
Mad Man Manson began his wrestling career in early 2004 soon after Irish Whip Wrestling launched their "lock-up" training school in Dublin. Manson would quickly makes his debut for the promotion by September of that year on a card at the Cavan Community Hall in Cavan and would continue on with the promotion becoming a regular on their shows.
In December of that year, Manson began a tour around the world which saw him compete in front of crowds in the United States, New Zealand and Australia.
In a very short space of time, Manson would become popular on both the European and International professional wrestling scene, regularly taging with Steve Mulligan and also making an appearance on national TV channel TV3 in Ireland. A regular on IwW's television show, Whiplash TV, Manson would gain an unbeated streak in Ireland never being pinned or submitting while wrestling in the country until 2006 when Manson became involved in a feud with french star Pierre Marceau. The "French Paradox" Marceau enlisted the help of Keego Ward and the Ballymun Bruiser to end Manson's unbeaten streak which had stretched to over 70 matches over 18 months in IwW. Manson would also have a long feud with Scottish wrestler Drew Galloway and his manager Charles Boddington.
In 2005, Manson received a World Wrestling Entertainment try-out under the care of Fit Finlay and Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat.
Later in to 2006, Manson would begin to compete in England, making several appearances with the Real Quality Wrestling promotion.
