"My Fifteen Minutes" is the eighth episode of the American sitcom Scrubs. It originally aired as Episode 8 of Season 1 on November 15, 2001. This episode is notable for its poster campaign surrounding Dr Turk, which makes use of slogans like 'Our MDs have Mad Skills,' and 'Time to get an EKG, G.'
[edit] Episode overview
The episode starts with Turk and JD walking to a strip club. On arrival there is a demonstration against the club which had attracted the attention of the media. In the course of an interview the cameraman filming them passes out and they resuscitate him on live news.
Dr. Kelso wants to get as much good publicity for the hospital as possible and so J.D. agrees to be part of an advertising campaign for the hospital with Turk. However, Turk is less impressed as J.D. is cut out of the photos leaving just him and some slogans that appeal to the urban black community. J.D. doesn't understand why this upsets Turk until he explains that he doesn't want to be seen as a good doctor because he's black, but as a good doctor for his skills and nothing more. He eventually ends the advertisements by threatening to sue Dr. Kelso.
Meanwhile J.D. worries over his intern evaluation from Dr. Cox and is tormented by the Janitor who claims he has stolen a cleaning product. Carla and Elliot rebuild their friend ship after Carla blows Elliot off to spend time with a friend she hasn't seen in a while.
