Naruto sinking!? Conspiracy in the swirling ocean (Japanese: ナルト撃沈！？陰謀うずまく大海原 - Naruto gekichin!? Inbau uzumaku ōunabara) is episode 103 of the anime series Naruto.

A group of men approach the strange ninja and ask what they should do, addressing him as Aoi-sama. He tells them to follow Idate while he stays with his own team's runner.
Idate is charging off, seemingly in the wrong direction as Naruto shouts that the boat is other way.
Back at the race start, the Jirochou boss defends Idate, but is challenged by a man named Gokaru from the rival clan who accuses Idate of making a mockery of the race. Jirochou bets the survival of his Wasabi clan on Idate's victory while the man that hired Aoi gloats.
Idate meanwhile is reflecting on how he first met the Jirochou boss: in a failed attempt to mug him. The boss easily disarms Idate and then tosses him the black thing and an apple and offers him a chance to join his clan, as long as he gives up his life of desperate crime.
As Team 7 argues over Idate's strange behavior, Aoi's men cast off their clothing, revealing themselves to be the Hiden Rain genin from the Chunin exams, itching for a rematch with Team 7. They use the same genjutsu as before to alter the surroundings and nearly trick Idate to his death by running him off a cliff: Naruto only barely saves him but loses all his weapons in the attempt.
Idate, thankful but still disdainful of ninja, explains his plan: he saw that the wind was heading directly at the boats, and so has decided to run farther north where he will be able to sail across the wind rather than directly into it, as the other team is doing. He and Team 7 find another boat and begin to sail off. At this point, Sakura tells Naruto that Idate is too fast for there to be any doubt: he's had hidden village training of some sort. Idate overhears Naruto boasting about passing the final section of the chuunin exams and slips up, admitting he knows too much about the exams. Sasuke suddenly realizes why the name Morino sounds so familiar: Ibiki, the examiner from the chuunin exams is Idate's long lost brother!
Before they can reflect on this, however, the Rain Genin attack with arrows from another boat. Naruto, of course, has no weapons, so he demands Idate give him his special black knife. Idate refuses. Naruto is able to cut the ropes connecting the boats, but it is too late: the rain ninja and their clones are already coming out of the deck of the ship. Naruto defeats them with his own clones, but they use a combination oil and fire attack to light the ship on fire.
Idate flashes back to Ibiki getting burned while tied to a chair, yelling at Idate to run: that he will just be a burden if he stays. Back in the present, Sasuke is telling Idate almost the exact same thing: run.
Sakura grabs the ship's mast and uses it as a bludgeon to protect Idate, but is wounded in the process. Idate finally is convinced by this that Team 7 has his best interests in mind, and swims for the shore.
Unfortunately, when he gets there, he is confronted with Aoi who laughs at his stupidity and attacks.

- Apparently, at this point in time Sakura has already been begun learning Tsunade's strength-enhancing techniques, as well as her medical techniques.
