How to add an album cover

If you want to add the image of a cover to an album that shows this image, do not modify this page or image. The correct procedure is:

1.	go to Special:Upload to upload the image
2.	go back to the album page, click edit, and change the following:
	{{Album infobox ... \| Cover =
	into:
	{{Album infobox ... \| Cover = Name of image you have uploaded

Add the line "Cover = " if not present already.

Do not include the "Image:" part in the name of the image.

In newer pages, Infobox Album is used instead of "album infobox".

Why you don't want to change this image

The image described in this page is used to indicate that no cover image has been placed in a particular album page. As a result, it must not be changed with a specific album cover image. Follow the above instructions for inserting a new album cover image.

Summary

I simply converted this image to lossless PNG. This is also in accordance with GNU policy on GIF's as per http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/gif.html. I chose the same licensing as the original image, namely: I, the creator of this work, hereby release it into the public domain.
