Talk:Saugus, Massachusetts
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I would think it would be a bad idea as probably over half of the Saugus.net content (computer references, ghost story contest, etc.) doesn't have anything to do with Saugus at all, and a lot of the remainder is for what the site refers to as "greater Saugus," that is, Saugus and the surrounding towns. It would be a little like pulling the entry for the Boston Globe into the entry for Boston. In both cases they're entities with separate histories, separate goals, and separate areas of coverage.
It may make sense though to incorporate the Saugus Chamber of Commerce into Saugus as that doesn't have much point outside of Saugus. Of course, that would mean that it wouldn't show up in topical Chamber of Commerce types of searches.
I agree that it makes no sense to add Saugus.net to the "Saugus, Massachusetts" category. Should all noteworthy ventures be listed under the town in which they were founded?
Saugus.net is a little too "self proclaimed".
I removed the "fact" that President Taft appeared with the local community theatre group. I also removed the statement that this is the third oldest community theatre group in New England. Couldn't find a source, and since the group was founded in 1958 it seemed unlikely. I also removed a reference to their current production, which is now past, and didn't seem to belong here anyway.
