Your comment on this page is appreciated but the the guy who disputes the content has no solid argument against the article just personal attack. [edit] Lt. Col. Thileepan

The resource at Tamilnation [1] is the most comprehensive stuff I have seen in English.
Another area to look maybe at YouTube, a lot of the LTTE documentaries are there, quite suprisingly. Elalan 02:03, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes but Unfortuanetly all the sources I've found including TamilNation are about the fast and the political situation, however I know that Lt.Col Thileepan was also an acoplished academic and I'd like to venture into that in 'Early Life' it provides depth for the article.

Hi Sharz, tamilcanadian, tamilnation and a no of other sites are useful. I will pass on any info I have. Do check the VP page for the Thileepan material citation.

I found some links here in Google [2] I have my GRE this Sunday, and after that I am all set for a full-fledged effort to clean up stuff and I sure do know that you are with me :-) Thanks Sudharsansn 16:05, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tamilnet

I agree Sharz on some of your points, but Tamilnet does have open editorial process, whereby facts are verified at least by two sources and all interviews and correspondence between on the ground reporters and recorded similar to other wired news services (AP, Reuters, AFP). Here is a link to the most comprehensive journal article I have seen on Tamilnet: http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/anthropological_quarterly/v077/77.3whitaker.pdf. If you have troubling accessing the article, I can perhaps post it somewhere. It does mention that both sides to the conflict have been at times "express extreme displeaure" at Tamilnet. The SL Government has been every open with megaphone, but the LTTE too has been unhappy with Tamilnet's reporting. This has however been more subdued grumbling.

The problem comes when Tamilnet uses an unnamed (anonymous military source who say one thing) and the military spokesman says another. Tamilnet indeed does have an agenda but, thats separate from whether they disseminate false information. You might want to look at Based on their reporting policy, this typical of all of these wired services. The details of process behind Tamilnet I hope to insert into the Tamilnet article shortly. Hi Sharz, there is a new kid, literally a kid, who is going beyond limits with scant respect for fellow editors and has gone overboard with his civility almost thrice inspite of friendly suggestions. Kindly intervene and warn him so as to avoid trivial conversations. He is dragging in things like how his parents brought him up, how we all should have been brought up, how he wants to honor the SL Army, how much of a pre-school kid 'I' am for all the good work I did on the VP page. I would pls ask you to interfere and issue him a strict civility warning and ask him to go through WP policies. • You've done this about a hundred times my vote-stacking friend, however it's Christmas time and I felt all jolly and wanting to call you out on it.
I was accused for what I didn't do. I will prove that I was innocent for that in near future and I hope that you have enjoyed my Christmas hamper that I sent you on December 14.
  • I challenge you to prove your statement that I vandalized that page,
Here it is.[6]
  • It's most blatantly obvious that you've branded every minor offence to your belief's on Wikipedia, but it's ironic though because you actually slap on a wiki policy that has nothing to do with the incident. For example, your blanking of the STF page repedidly then coming up with the tenacity to say "RV Blanking".
Come up with evidence come up with evidence than crying on my talk page.
  • I'm sure that you'll most likely ignore this message and let it fade away, as with any other call to justify yourself on your talk page.
I Always try to keep my edits with summaries and give feedback to every considerable messages. Though this was cannot classified to that, but I had to. --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ Walkie-talkie 16:20, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
I have provided you a diff of the vandalism you did for your easiness and thats proof enough. But even that you can't understand thats ridiculous. --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ Walkie-talkie 08:46, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
I've already seen that page, and it has absolutely no breaches of Wikipedia policy regarding vandalism, your response on 08:46 26 of December made little to no grammatical sense, please consider rephrasing it so it is understandable to me, I completely understand though I am a native English speaker, English is a second language to most. --Sharz 13:09, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent request for checkuser

You recently compiled and listed a case at requests for checkuser. A checkuser or clerk has requested you supply one or more diffs to justify the use of the checkuser procedure in the case, in accordance with the procedures listed in the table at the top of the requests for checkuser page. For an outcome to be achieved, we require that you provide these diffs as soon as possible. This has been implemented to reduce difficulties for checkusers, and is essential for your case to be processed. A link to your recently-created case which has this information missing is here. Thanks for your co-operation. Daniel.Bryant T · C ] 07:25, 27 December 2006 (UTC), checkuser clerk.

[edit] Argentina portal

The main areas of maintenance required for this portal are the choosing of a selected article and selected picture each month, and writing them up. See Portal:Argentina/Selected article/2006 for the articles we've had so far, and Portal:Argentina/Selected picture/2006 for the pictures. You can get an idea for the naming scheme from those. Portal talk:Argentina#Selected_articles and Portal talk:Argentina#Selected_pictures have some suggestions for articles and pictures. The other area is In The News - ideally, you'd add a news story at least once a week. It would really help to read Spanish for this, so you can scan the Argentine newspapers every day or two. If you were keen, you could add the occasional item to the Did You Know box. The Wikipedia:Argentina-related regional notice board would be a good source of new articles for DYK facts.

Feel free to ask me specific questions about anything you don't understand. If you want to make dramatic changes to the portal, it would be polite to suggest it on the talk page first and wait for a while to see if there's any response, but in practice I don't think anyone is following the portal very closely.-gadfium 02:14, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stop writing meaningless things at my talk page

I have noticed that you have written totally unrelated stuff in my talk page..Since the discussion is going on at the relevant talk page it is absolutely meaningless to write the same things at my talk page.

You also wrote, P.S on a personal note, I found your edit patterns quiet strange as well as the fact that your from Japan and live in Japan...however you refer to yourself geographically in relation to (usually) Columbu?). So yeh, I had another account of mine start a CheckUser and a OOP on you, curiosity kills the cat. Well, though I owed it to ya to tell you.

I really don't understand what you want to say here ..Could you please say this in proper English ?? Apart from strange grammar, there are severe spelling mistakes and I would appreciate if you use any kind of spell check tool before posting comments at my talk page, if you have any problem with English spellings.thank you --Iwazaki 13:35, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

I have highlighted some words here.If this is the way ,queen writes English, then all I can say is "god save the queen"..Further how can you even talk about grammar when you can't even spell that word !!--Iwazaki 14:09, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

P.S on a personal note, I found your edit patterns quiet strange as well as the fact that your from Japan and live in Japan(meaningless to me, may be not to the queen)...however you refer to yourself geographically in relation to (usually) Columbu?). So yeh, I had another account of mine start a CheckUser and a OOP on you, curiosity kills the cat. Well, though I owed it to ya to tell you.

Mate, all the spelling there is perfect according to the rules of Queen's English, grammatically it is collquil and I do apoligise for that, but nothing else. If you want the jist of the message, "I looked at your user contributions and compared them to other users, I looked at the contradiction between your said location and your real location and I came to the conclusion that you are most obviously a puppet or puppeteer, my secondary account has opened two cases in regard to the topic, have a spendiphorous (see there's a word that's made up) day. Oh and it's always a good chuckle for me when someone gets all fired up about my grammer and they make several mistakes in their own comment on my grammer.

For your future referance. "could you please say this in proper English", you have not established a noun, thus, it is grammatically in-correct, the correct sentence would be "could you please frame your (statement/comment etc) in proper English".

"I would appreciate", here's another little no no, where is your verb tence, tut tut tut, "I would apreciate it".

"if you use any spell check tool", well here's a simple slip-up, they taught us about the content of a sentence in school I do believe it's meant to be "if you (could/would etc etc) use any spell-check (note there differance there too) tool"

Don't think I'm getting a massive superiority complex because English is my first language, I do make mistakes, however I'm not on a high-horse reprimanding other's grammer and making grammatical mistakes whilst doing so, and nor do I pick out what is for all intensive purposes, perfect grammer or spelling. (oh please oh please don't point out my colloquil language or the missing t in "thought" or I might just have to scream. --Sharz 13:52, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

A few explanations for you, firstly, jist is a real word, if you don't know what it means that's not my problem. Referance is acceptable in Imperiacal spelling, though more widely used now as reference, tence is also a real word and spelt correctly, As for your complaints about the word apoligise, [1] just look around Utopia and you'll notice it is part of vonacular. OOP is a proxy search on Wikipedia, I thought you would know that, as for 'ya' that is part of an informal register and as I have state before "I do make mistakes, however I'm not on a high-horse reprimanding others", and again, grammatically, it is all pretty sound. --Sharz 23:47, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

In addition this is quiet a useless discussion, but since you wanted to bring it up, I just thought I would point out the many hypocritical flaws in your arguement. Oh and another thing, your whole ridiculing of the term Queen's English is interesting because it just displays your own ignorance, Queen's English is the original form of English used in the Commonwealth and endorsed by the *gasp* Queen or King of the Realm. Aka British English Australian English Commonwealth English etc etc.

Well I do know of British English.I'm coming from a country where we value British English very high..I am sorry if I hurt by pointing out your mistakes, and remember you asked for it.I did it sincerely,as I could not grasp the meaning of what you wrote..One last point, please at least try to spell the word "grammar" correctly.I don' like people who can't even spell grammar to talk about grammar.--Iwazaki 05:25, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] don't be a dick

Stop giving meaningless warnings..And first try behave your self better. Be an example for others..You have removed not only other people's comments but also warnings given to you by administrators !! I have listed a couple below.. Don't give me meaningless lectures. you are the one who even disgracefully removed warnings!! see here remove of warnings

And see the how you have even asked others to remove your comments in order to cover up your movements here..You have made a check user request on me,and without even informing me of it,you have disgracefully tried to cover up everything!!

archive or Delete this message as soon as read

There are many more.but hope this will do for now.enjoy--Iwazaki 05:19, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

You know there are a couple of quotes around my User Page and User Talk page, I suggest you read them, they might help you from making an ass of yourself on a regular basis, First off, I didn't lay a claim to being the most accurate person in spelling, I mearly pointed out the fact that in your obviously snarky comment, you had made numerous spelling mistakes and grammatical slip-ups. As for the "removal of warnings", any warning I have removed from here either went to my archive page or was deleted on the basis of it being a flamboyant over-compensation for the user who stuck it here because of his inadequecies when he was called out on his bullshit. As for my cover-up? I stand by it completely and will continue to edit in a manner of secrecy, simply because it is a counter-reaction to the aggressive editing style of other users, namely yourself and others in the same faction, I think this discussion is all but complete there is nothing of worth while to discuss. FYI as for your warning, you removed replies to comments you made here not just my STF reply, though I actually thought I was doing you a favor by giving you a personal copy of my reply since we were the only two people in the discussion. --Sharz 05:36, 3 January 2007 (UTC) (save both of us some time and don't reply, it will only lead to further transactions of meaningless words)
once again failed to see the link, didn't you ?? You have Deleted 3RR warning given to you by the administrator..disgracefully ,I would say. Also, please be noted ,good editors don't cover up their actions,Esp after they have accused some one for "sock puppetry".Your actions were hilarious and disgraceful. That's all I have to say.--Iwazaki 06:02, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
I looked at the link you fool and I'll say it again, the warning is IN MY ARCHIVE. Talk about disgrace all you want, you spend your days on Wikipedia making no helpful edits or compromises but simply peddling some cheap POV of war-mongerers and dogs who kill women and children but only when they face real men do they resort to words. You are a sock-puppet, you and alot of others in your camp work in an intricate network of proxies, one of you have already been caught out, do not think the rest of you will not. And it's funny that you mention the 3RR incident, when you and another user, most likely sock-puppet and puppeteer chose to revert in turns, so as to surplant the 3RR rule. Honestly, I don't like you, I don't like your viewpoints, your edit styles and especially your un-earned sense of rightousness, reply to this message all you want, I will not reply, vandalise my page, and I will report you. Oh and in a reciprical gesture to your "dont be a dick" maybe you should read, What makes a fuckhead? --Sharz 07:01, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
In addition, it is also interesting to note that some in your camp have gone as far as posting false 'confessionals' about their experiences with the LTTE and other such things around on the internet, it is not hard to find and it is indicative or a more problematic government sponsored movement, I wouldn't put it past Sri Lanka Intelligence to try such puny and easy to detect methods to use.

[edit] Sydney Boys High School

The citation provided does not even mention Sydney Boys High School, so I have again removed the claim. Please provide verification of the claim you wish to include before you edit it back in.

Also, please be more accurate in your edit summaries - "blanking" refers to blanking out a page. I did not blank the page, I made an edit and provided an edit summary and discussion on the talk page to clearly explain the rationale and what is required. -- Rob.au 09:17, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

My bad about the blanking, that happens with my auto-fill, As for the citation, that isn't my citation, I'm not exactly sure why it is there, but the referance I'm attaching is the graph details on the very same page.
