"Step by Step" is a song written and performed by Annie Lennox. The song was released as the B-side of her 1992 single "Precious".
The song was later covered by R&B/Pop singer Whitney Houston and became a hit on its own right as the second single from the soundtrack for the 1997 movie The Preacher's Wife. Annie Lennox provided backing vocals for Houston's version, which reached #15 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart in the US and #7 in the United World Chart. It was certified Gold.
