Takamuko no Kuromaro

Takamuko no Kuromaro no Genri (高向玄理)(d. 654) was a noble in the Yamato court, of Korean ancestry. Traveling to China with Ono no Imoko in 608, he remained there thirty-two years. Following his return in 640, he was awarded the title Kuni no hakase (国の博士, "National Scholar"), and helped write the Taika Reforms in 645. He then left for China once more several years later, assigned there as an ambassador. Takamuko died upon his arrival in Chang'an in 654.
