Talk:The Sims 2: University
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I know this isn't "my" article, but I would like to help make it grow and I'd like some input on what you think should be in it. As of Jan. 6 2004 there is still not alot on this game, but with its release in just 2 months that should change soon. All suggestions on content are welcome, so you don't have to do it yourself! :) bernlin2000 ∞ 03:42, Jan 9, 2005 (UTC)
- The problem with many game articles like these are that they are inherently unencyclopedic, because most of the information comes from game review sites and related sources. Essentially, only Tetris and possibly Pong are notable games, since they've actually been harbingers of modern gaming or whatnot. z ε n .ıl 19:17, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge Sims 2 University:Zombies
I found that Sims 2 University:Zombies had been marked for merge with this article in May, but this article hadn't been updated. I cleaned up that article a fair bit, so I'm just waiting until we can merge it. Superwad 16:58, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
I think it needs to be merged. Atlantan 11:25, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
It needs merging because the the whole zombie article is in the main article anyway so the zombie article is a waste of space—The preceding unsigned comment was added by David Cat (talk • contribs) 18:10, 12 August 2006.
[edit] Zombies - advantages/disadvantages
I do not think that the article should have the advantages and disadvantages sections. Some advantages could be disadvantages to some people (e.g. I don't really see having different skin as an advantage) and vice versa. Some "advantages" are disadvantages (e.g. Zombies can't conceive). I propose that these sections be merged into the main zombie section as someting such as "facts about zombies". - Sounds good. Its a subjective list with no real sourcing for it.--Crossmr 16:15, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Criticisms
The Criticisms section is feeling a little too POV to me. I deleted it, but self-reverted it because I felt that this needed more of a consensus. The way I read it, it seems as if the article is almost looking down upon those who criticize the EP. One problem is that the sources aren't cited (as has been tagged). If there were sources (I know of some, but they are generally on private groups - I don't do the BBS enough to be familiar with those) to which the article could point, that would be one thing, because it would then be evident that this is a player's opinion. As it is now, I just don't know if that section should be there. --Carl (talk|contribs) 18:08, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- It can be removed. Its unsourced, and essential OR, the cite tag has been there for awhile and as I expected no citations forthcoming.--Crossmr 20:00, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Zombie bites.
The article mentions that zombies can bite people, but doesn't mention the effects of a bite. I'd assume it turns them into a zombie, but I haven't unlocked Zombies yet.--Agent Aquamarine 05:14, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] University's description of courses
I like this game so I want to share with you my work for getting all the description of each majors and its subject and time. I first offered it in one of walkthrough sites but they turned it down and I think this is the best place to place the major's description. I've put it it and you if you think it is rubbish or unnecessary, deletd it and contact me at mytalk page. Thank you! Hedwig0407 (talk • contribs) August 30, 2001
- This content while useful to a player, isn't useful to a descriptive encyclopedia article about the game. There is a sims wikibook though where this might be appropriate. I don't have the link handy, but if you visit the wikibook site you should be able to find the book there on it.--Crossmr 21:53, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

- Could you please post the link to this wikibook you're referring to? Can't find it on Wikibooks.org (site geared towards textbooks). Thanks. -- WiccaIrish 04:21, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- thats an old comment there. I know it exists, I haven't myself used it, but I've seen it mentioned by several individuals. There is a wiki that does handle things like gameguides. Maybe ask on the help desk, someone there might have the link.--Crossmr 04:53, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Clean-up
Alot of the detail on this article delves well beyond that of an encyclopedia entry and into the realm of game guide. I'm going to be cleaning some of it up shortly unless someone else wants to take a go at it.--Crossmr 04:00, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm combing through it now, but please review it as well. z ε n .ıl 05:43, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- That really looks a lot better.--Crossmr 16:12, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- Since I've started a wikibook for The Sims, it might be appropriate to move the material that was removed, and anymore that goes into too much detail there. The page can be found at b:The Sims.I'll try and get to it, but there are a number of expansions to go through here.--Crossmr 22:19, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've transwiki'd the removed material. If any further removal of detailed info is needed here, please move it to wikibooks.--Crossmr 22:29, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
