The 88 is a four-piece powerpop band based in Los Angeles, California. They have made two albums, and have been featured on such shows as The O.C., How I Met Your Mother, The Late Late Show, and Attack of the Show.

A May 1, 2006, episode of the television sitcom How I Met Your Mother featured engaged couple Marshall and Lily trying to sneak into a high school prom to see if The 88, whom Marshall had tentatively booked for the wedding and who were playing the prom, could play the couple's song, "Good Feeling," the final track from the Violent Femmes' self titled album.

"Hide Another Mistake" is used for two clip compilation featurettes on the Season 1 DvD Boxset of How I Met Your Mother.

The songs "How Good It Can Be" and "Hard To Be You" from the album Kind of Light and the song "Hide Another Mistake" from Over and Over have all featured on The O.C. "How Good It Can Be" is featured on the official soundtrack, Music from The O.C.: Mix 1.

The Song "How Good Can It Be" also featured on the hit show One Tree Hill season 1

"Hide Another Mistake" was also featured on an episode of the 2nd season of Grey's Anatomy.
"All Cause Of You" was featured in almost's skateboard video, cheese and crackers
"Coming Home" was featured in an early 2006 (3.22.06) Target commercial.
