The Epoxies are a Portland, Oregon-based band that crosses the stylized veneer of new-wave with the edgy sneer of early punk rock. They are however, by no means a time capsule; incorporating synthesized laser whines, automaton yodeling and an aggressive beats to create a sound entirely their own. Their lyrics are often clever amalgamations of romantic sweet nothings and futuristic paranoia, frequently using technology and science in metaphorical ways in regard to society and relationships.
In 2002, following the breakout success of their single "Need More Time" they released a self-titled debut album on Seattle's Dirtnap Records. The single once again brought them a large amount of attention when it was included on the 2004 Rock Against Bush compilation. Shortly after the band signed to California based punk label Fat Wreck Chords for the release of their second full length album "Stop The Future" as well as distribution of their self titled album for the European market.
The band spent most of 2005 touring in support of "Stop the Future" including shows with the Undertones, Groovie Ghoulies, and The Lovemakers; full tours with The Aquabats, Phenomenauts, and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes as well as a three month tour with Against Me!, Soviettes, and Smoke or Fire.
Recently, they re-recorded their fan favorite song "Synthesized" in the fictional simlish language for The Sims 2: Open for Business video game.
Their 2006 tour has just ended (including a few West Coast dates in November supporting punk veterans The Damned), and they are now resting, writing, and recording for their new album. They will be playing shows in and around Portland. A European tour is scheduled for February/March 2007.
