Talk:Tiber Septim
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cuhlecain will stay as a King then but this is taken from The Imperial Library:
" The Emperor Cuhlecain (later is known as Emperor Zero) of Cyrodiil is assassinated by a High Rock nightblade. The assassin tries to kill General Talos as well, but the great General survives even though he loses his strong voice due the terrible wound on his neck. From this moment on, General Talos takes a Cyrodiilic name, Tiber Septim, and he takes over the throne. This marks the beginning of the Third Empire. "
So while at the time he wasnt an emperor he has since been recognized as one, Ill leave it as King though. -- Vohod

Conflicts with "The Real Barenziah"
If I'm correct, the Elder Scrolls in-game novel series "The Real Barenziah" conflicts with the claim that Tiber Septim's voice was degraded to a whisper. The anonyomous author (later to be identified in The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal) claims that one attribute of Tiber Septim's powerful image was his "booming voice", leading to Barenziah's love and affair with him. Is it possible that the Real Life author of the "The Real Barenziah" forgot this, or is it possible that the aspect of the whisper is mere legend?
- On another note, the article claims that Talos was born in Atmora. However, Atmora was supposedly uninhabitable by that time, and other sources claim he was born in Alcaire, High Rock. (http://til.gamingsource.net/obscure_text/forum.shtml, about 3/4 of the way down) Perhaps some mention of this doubt should be made? After all, the source for an Atmoran origin is the Pocket Guide to the Empire, which is Tiber Septim's own propaganda (and in which he must have found it useful to claim a more ancient origin to legitimise his rulership over Tamriel) and so unreliable. He's a mythical character, after all.
