"Ugly" is a pop song written by Dallas Austin, Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena, and Heidi Range for the Sugababes' fourth studio album Taller In More Ways (2005). Produced by Dallas, it was released as the album's second and final single with former band member and co-founder, Mutya Buena in December 2005. While the song peaked within the top 10 in the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, and the UK, "Ugly" entered the top twenty on the majority of all other charts it appeared on.

[edit] Song information
Dallas Austin both wrote and produced this second single. Based on lyrics about self-acceptance and inner beauty (in similar ways to Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful"), the guitar driven up-beat ballad is seen as a continuation from TLC's "Unpretty", a 1999 single release by the R&B trio, whose own interpretation had also been produced by Dallas and picked up similar lyrics.
In August 2005, the track premiered on Chris Moyles' radio show on BBC Radio One, just presented as one of two tracks (next to "Push the Button") from the upcoming Sugababes album. However, the track was fancied as a second single, even before "Push the Button" was released on CD. In the UK "Ugly" maxi CD was released on December 5th, 2005.
