Bose Headphone Family Thanks!

As always thanks for the help on this page I have spent a lot of time trying to make it better. I am very grateful that there is someone else dedicated to this page and helping me keep it NPOV... even if we don’t entirely agree about the headphones. I tried to get this page semi-protected but they said it needed to be vandalized a lot more before that was necessary... damn... I included a little thank you for all your help! --UKPhoenix79 07:32, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Thanks for helping me keep the Bose Headphone Family page NPOV and defending against the multitude of trollers that Bose seams to gather.

Time Crisis 3

  • I'm not sure where you found the voice acting information, but I have reason to believe it may be false. Lynn Harris, or possibly an oveerzealous fanboy/girl of hers, is passing around false information about her voice credits. If you can find some corroborating proof of your credits, that would be great, as despite all proof to the contrary I don't want to believe this is a total hoax. Thanks. Danny Lilithborne 03:37, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
    • I know a lot of people get uncredited work. :) But Lynn Harris is a special case; she seemed to appear out of nowhere on IMDB and claimed credit for many games in which she could not have possibly done. (For example, the CPS1 and CPS2 Street Fighter games used speech synthesis to generate the voices, so she could not have done Chun-Li for those games.) Some ridiculous credit was also given (NES Metal Gear, Chun-Li in Street Fighter) and a poster by the name of "ocean_secrets" (likely also "AmazonFighter") heavily hypes Ms. Harris. Add that up with the anime photograph on IMDB and how she just happens to be the only voice credit for the majority of the games she's listed in, and all evidence points to a hoax. I just want to see something substantive that shows that Ms. Harris even exists as a voice actress. Omarosa

I have put a cleanup tag, as it suits the article better. Ohyeahmormons 09:24, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Good idea, Mark, I'll do the same.

Protection

Hi Mark, sorry but the user is an AOL IP, which means the person who vandalised then will not be the person vandalising the other article. This means that blocks must be kept to something like 15 mins, and no longer; when other blocks can go up to a month. There has also not been "enough" vandalism to the article for it to be protected, see WP:PPOL for more info, and when an article can be protected; also the vandalism appears to have died down, so there is no need to worry: revert! If the vandalism get to something like this, the protection can come in. If there are any other things you need me for, or you wish for me to protect the article when vandalism gets out of hand, feel free to contact me on my talk page. Thanks! Omarosa has Nigerian Roots

I watched the video on big brother Nigeria, On channel O. She stated that her parents were Nigerians and she was in Africa earlier this year.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ihunnaya (talkcontribs) 01:08, 12 June 2006 (UTC).

Bose QC3's

Thought that I'd point out the changes on the Bose Headphone Family page like moving the old headphones to their own page and the announcement by bose of the QC3's. Chat to ya later. -- UKPhoenix79 03:17, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Well after all the convos back and forward about the QuietComforts I'm glad that you like them! From what I have been able to find out they are going to run for $349 USD have only one cord like the previous version, be smaller, have a vastly improved active noise reduction tech and.... well... they look very cool! I'm just not too keen on having a rechargable battery that lasts for 20 hours. I would love it if they can put that improved active noise cancellation tech inside of the QC2's with their naturally better passive noise redusing circumaural design! I liked your suggestion for "Legacy Bose Headphones" maybe we could use that in the article, but I would agree that Previous Bose Headphones would make more sense to most people. Maybe if we go to a Bose store on June 14th they'll let us get a sneak peak before anyone else? Bose Australia already has some info up in their support page. Chat to ya later! -- UKPhoenix79 04:09, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Matsuda/Masuda

  • To be honest, I'm not really sure what you're talking about, but feel free to fix the kanji; my Japanese is horrid. All I know is, there is a woman who gets credits as "Yuki Matsuda" and a man who gets credits as "Yuuki Matsuda" or "Yuuki Masuda". They're different people, and it caused me a lot of confusion when I heard Daichi Misawa's voice. As far as the last names go, I really don't know enough to say either way. Danny Lilithborne 04:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
    • And just to make things even more confusing, there's another guy named Yuki Masuda who does voices. Now I have a headache. Danny Lilithborne 04:24, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
  • You should go ahead and do what you feel is best; I'm already more confused than when I first started out trying to figure out why a female seiyuu sounded so much like a man. I just need to know if Daichi Misawa is voiced by the same person who did the voice of K`. Other than that, I have no doubts that you know more about the subject than I do. You are quite right about the issue with the lostnav on all the actors pages. It needs to be removed from ALL of them. So I will do so. See my talk page for the rest of the discussion. 71.199.123.24 02:48, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

SNK Boss sysdrome

Just letting you know that, at least, I agree completly that neither Bison nor Vega furfill the criteria for the SNK Boss sysdrome. Cheers.--Vertigo200 04:14, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

Errr, I think you didn't quite understand my message above: I AGREE with you! <shakes heads at the misundestanding> Neither Bison (except for the Alpha series, but he's already there) nor Vega come even close to having the requirements for being a SNK boss... so, just make myself 100% clear about what I think: Bison is does NOT have the SNK Boss Syndrome; Vega does NOT have the SNK Boss Syndrome. =]. I probably should have expressed myself clearer... Cheers.--Vertigo200 01:37, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

Darth Vader

As you have contributed to the discussion previously, I invite you to comment on my proposal as to the fate of Darth Vader. You are welcome to make a counterproposal as well. — Phil Welch 21:38, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Ansatsuken Page Up For Deletion!

In the past you made some suggestions to the Ansatsuken page. I appreciate your input. However, as of March 6th, the Ansatsuken article within the Street Fighter portal has been marked for deletion. The controversy is the same old one about the name of Ryu and Ken's martial arts. A user who says he studied in Japan for some years says the name "Ansatsuken" is a mistranslation and that the article should be completely deleted. I rewrote the article two months back, completely aware of this problem. In the article I mentioned this exact complaint the user had earlier. I especially focused on the fact the name of Ryu's martial art isn't really given by Capcom of Japan. For lack of a better name to refer to Ryu's art I just used "Ansatsuken" within the article. Anyway, it's the name Capcom puts under "style" in Ryu's profile, or whenever they refer to Ryu's martial art. I would appreciate your help if you can put your five cents in on the "Delete Ansatsuken" Talk page. Also, it would help if you can post some suggestions on ways to salvage or clean up the article, or other possible articles it can be merged with. Or a better name that still discusses Ryu and Ken's martial arts. The biggest complaint are the sources, which I am currently working on. But please vote to KEEP the article for now until a solution can be reached. Thank you. --BB Mofo 02:34, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Bose

I haven't been able to see what change you made on the Bose Corporation entry. I compared the two versions but failed to find the difference. It must have been something minor. Nor did I see anythingin the "talk" for the page clairfying it. No big deal, but I thought I'd mention it.

PS. FYI -- I was a member of the Board of Directors of BOSE Corporation from 1968 to 1976 and President of Bose Corporation from 1969 to 1976. I remain one of some 120 shareholders and have close friends among current management, incluing Amar.

Omarosa

I don't watch Apprentice (tho I might watch the Martha version for a few episodes), so I didn't ever see Omarosa on that, so I don't really know what she did to make people hate her so much. The only thing I've ever seen her on was one episode of Battle of the Network Reality Stars. Zoe 06:36, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

re headphones

I use an AKG K501, myself. I know people who hate it, of course... I just decided I liked the K501's sound most of what I'd heard, so I went with it despite its disadvantages (including very low efficiency and overdamped bass). If you're curious about headphones, head-fi.org and headphonereviews.org both have some good information, though as with all audio sites, everything you read in either of those places must be taken with a few cups of salt.

I'm actually not much of an audio guy, and I prefer to stay out of discussions in that field because they can turn nasty. I only have Bose on watch because it looked like it needed some attention, and because I'm happy working on more controversial subjects. SVI

re: Just curious

Audio aficionado, I guess. I'm more interested in music than in equipment, but being interested in one will always get you at least semi-involved in the other (kind of like hardware and software). SVI 20:00, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

re: Bose QuietComfort 2 in Silver--Worth it?

It's up to you, really. If you have the time, there's really no harm in trying out the new model.. but that's a pretty big "if" right there. Personally, I wouldn't bother, because you already have one pair of noise-cancelling headphones that work perfectly fine. However, it's your decision to make, not mine.

It's probably worth noting that all conceivable scenarios have trade-offs. If the headphone sounds better, you'll catch a bad case of upgradeitis; if it sounds worse or the same, you'll have wasted some of your time. If you don't want to have to deal with either of these trade-offs, you're probably better off ignoring it. SVI 17:05, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

Darth Vader images

I just viewed it on a 1024x768 and other than the crossfire between the two images about the Luke/Vader battle in ESB the pictures didn't seem too big. As for the captions, the pictures that don't have captions are intentionally so because they are either decorative or self-explanatory. For instance, the image of Vader kneeling is by "Appearance" because it gives a good visual idea of what Darth Vader looks like, while the image of him boarding the Tantive IV is largely decorative. (If the image of him kneeling was, on the other hand, in the ESB section the caption would work. But the purpose isn't to depict Vader kneeling before his master, it's to depict Vader—the kneeling pose is just incidental.) — Phil Welch 01:07, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

Debbie Gibson to Deborah Gibson move

Hi, I noticed you moved this article, which is fine, *provided* you also fix the re-directs. Otherwise, it should be moved back. See What links here --rob 06:22, 20 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing all links. --rob 20:32, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
