Improve geography & related articles and those related to Geographic information systems, as well as to maintain Portal:Geography.

develop and implement a common structure to geography and its sub-fields
clarify and improve topic structure
ensure accessibility to the lay reader - with a simplified version and/or appropriate main article/daughter article structuring of scientific detail
add more scientific detail (and sources) in appropriate articles
develop some neglected aspects of the topic
ensure NPOV
get all geography articles up to A Class standard

[edit] Adopt an article

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
