[edit] Re:NPOV
Ah, I didn't mean any of your edits are POV! That's just one of the welcome notices available, and thinking that they're all similar, I put that one on your talk page. I see now it does have some extra stuff about NPOV, but I think it's more for warning you rather than for informative purposes. I'll change it to a more suitable one. All the best, -- THE GREAT GAVINI {T|C|#} 07:37, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Fishmongers-arms.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Fishmongers-arms.gif. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Nigel Dick
Huh, that's funny. I didn't check the history - I didn't realize your article was so new since it was looking quite complete! I spotted his addition to the Band Aid article, and saw that it was mis-capitalized, so I went to fix that, saw it needed cleanup and did that, then went to move it to the proper title and discovered an already existing article. I can't believe you completed a nice full article in that time! You do good work -- definitely keep it up. Cheers! — Catherine\talk 04:04, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, grasshopper, the answer to citations is easy -- just see Wikipedia:Footnotes! It boils down to:
-
- Put your cursor after the period at the end of the sentence you want to footnote. Click "<ref></ref>" in the insert box (down underneath the edit box and the save/preview buttons).
- Put your cursor between the "><". Type your citation, in any format that gets the point across. (If someone else thinks they can improve it, they will.)
- Put your cursor under an existing or newly created "References" header, and click "<references/>" in the insert box.
- That's it! Preview of course -- missing a closing tag can cause a citation to "eat" the rest of the article below the cite -- but it's easy. There's a few more subtleties if you want to name a source so you can re-use it elsewhere in the article, but you can always master that later. Good luck! — Catherine\talk 05:11, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Greshams-arms.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Greshams-arms.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] alumni
I'm impressed too.... I went to see if one could find alumni using online sourse and I chose Derby School as an example. Couldn't find any ... and then you find one every 20 mins or so ... how are you doing it ... are you making them up? :-) Victuallers 16:07, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- My reply is on your talk page Xn4 16:18, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- If you get bored with creating articles then have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Assessment, you can occupy your time looking at other schools pages and rating them ... only a suggestion. The Derby SchoolS are looking good. You may see that I added some category stuff Victuallers 20:56, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for adding the extra schools .... I'll have a look and see if I can find a few more at the weekend. It would be good to create a similar box for Nottinghamshire schools. Could you give me some pointers as to how to make this happen? Thanks Victuallers 23:45, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dr. Hammond
Xn4 I would like to contact you about Dr. Jhon Hammond, my grandfather worked with him in 1935 and 1936 in artificial insemination, and I´m joining information for the page I´m wrinting http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albores_de_la_Inseminaci%C3%B3n_Artificial_en_Uruguay Contact me at the e-mail; pjthomasset()montevideo.com.uy
- I have improved the article for you, adding some references. Xn4 00:52, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Derby School
Has improved a lot. One suggestion is .... inline refs. Not sure if you know that you can do this in a better way. Your list of refs wsould look muck more impressive. I could explain, but I worked on Tredegar. If you look at the ref list then it is very similar to yours. However if you look at the source then you will see that it was all assembled automatically. Hope this helps Victuallers 23:16, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
