[edit] Album information
Although it was her only album to fail to reach the top ten in the United States it sold well (1,900,000 copies in the US), despite having no singles to promote it. Its success also inspired other artists such as Paula Abdul, Bobby Brown, and Milli Vanilli to release remix albums.
In Japan, the album's one new song "Spotlight" (left over from the True Blue recording sessions) was released as a single, and made the top ten. You Can Dance continued Madonna's string of platinum-selling albums.
