Steel Pulse est un groupe de reggae britannique qui se forme en 1975 à Birmingham. A la base de ce groupe, David Hinds, Ronald Stepper, Selwyn Brown ainsi que Basil Gabbidon et McQueen qui quitteront plus tard la formation.
Steel Pulse engage Steve Grizzly Nisbett (batterie), Phonso Martin (percussion) et Michael Riley (chant).
Leurs trois premiers albums sont produit par Karl Pitterson, qui a travaillé avec Bob Marley.
