Blues punk

Il Blues Punk prende la struttura e la strumentazione semplice delle classiche canzoni blues e le mescola con l'aggressività, la distorsione delle chitarre e l'atteggiamento del Punk (che ha molto in comune con l'atteggiamento di alcuni artisti Blues come Hound Dog Taylor e Little Walter).
Lo stile trae le radici dal garage rock dei metà anni 60, e dal sound grezzo di band come Captain Beefheart o the Gun Club, ma il blues punk ha cominciato realmente ad emergere aell'inizio degli anni 90 con band come Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Gories, e The Gibson Brothers. Il sound blues punk è continuato anche negli anni 00 grazie anche alla popolarità dei The White Stripes.
