Omar Sharif

Omar Sharif, ook wel bekend als Omar El-Cherif (Alexandrië, 10 april 1932) is een Egyptisch acteur en bridgespeler.
Sharif wiens acteercarrière begon in 1953, heeft de hoofdrol gespeeld in vele Hollywood-films, waarvan Lawrence of Arabia en Doctor Zhivago waarschijnlijk de bekendste zijn.
Niet alleen studeerde hij aan de Victoria Universiteit in Caïro af in zowel wis- als natuurkunde, ook spreekt hij vloeiend Arabisch, Engels, Frans en Grieks.
Verder is Sharif ook één van 's werelds bekendste bridgespelers.
