The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a video game published in 1998 for the Nintendo 64. Many people think that it is one of the greatest games ever. In the game, the main character Link goes on a journey to save the land of Hyrule from the evil dark King Ganondorf. To win, Link must Ganondorf and all his minions. A special item is the ocarina; Link uses it to travel back in time.

At the Kokiri Forest, the Great Deku Tree asks Navi to tell Link to come to him. When Link arrives, he learns that the Great Deku Tree is dying because of a curse, and that he is the only one who can save him. Link enters the tree and kills many of the monsters in it, but it too late for him to save the tree. Before the Great Deku Tree dies, he gives Link a Kokiri Emerald and tells him that it was a man in black armor who put the curse on him. He also tells Link that he needs to go to Princess Zelda at Hyrule Castle, who can see the futue. Before Link leaves, Saria, Link's friend, gives him the Fairy Ocarina, an instrument.
At Hyrule Castle, Link sneaks pass the guards and meets Princess Zelda. Zelda tells him that it was Ganondorf, king of the Gerudo, who killed the Great Deku Tree. She also tells him that Ganondorf wants to steal the Triforce, a magical item, and control the world. To defeat him, Link needs to find three Spiritual Stones and the Ocarina of Time.

It was a very popular game, and many people liked it. Five million games were sold around the world after half a year, and 7.6 million games were sold in all.
A lot of people were happy with this game, though there were a few, small problems. One problem was that you can't skip through the parts when people talk. Another was that you can not play against the boss monsters that you have already killed.
Overall though, many websites and magazines think this game is one of the best games ever made. GameSpot, Famitsu, IGN, Electric Gaming Monthly, Edge, and Nintendo Power all gave the game perfect scores.
