The Sims 2 is the sequel to The Sims. It is a simulation game made by Maxis and EA Games.
The game features a full 3D graphics engine. Like the first Sims game, it has many expansion packs.
[edit] Expansion Packs
These are addons to the game which add new items, new places and new features. They are listed in the order that they came out in the shops. They are meant to come out 2 times a year.

There are meant to be 7 expansion packs in total. The evn numbered expansion packs (e.g Nightlife - EP 2,Pets - EP 4) apparently bring something from the original Sims game whilst odd numbered expansion packs (University - EP 1, Open for Business - EP 3 and the soon to be released Seasons - which will be EP 5) bring something completely new to the Sims 2 game. It is rumoured that after all 7 expansion packs are released, The Sims 3 will be released in Spring 2009.
