[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Holy Knights.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Holy Knights.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Durin 05:10, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject Albums conventions
Hey, it's not a huge thing, but I just edited a few album pages where you were the only user in the history log. You may want to see how I edited "your" pages (check my contributions or see the articles that you modified in the last day or two). Specifically, according to Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums, track names should be in quotes and not italics, leading zeros should be removed (though I think it's convention to keep one zero for tracks of 59 seconds or less), and times should be set off with an ndash as opposed to parentheses. Keep up the good work. --Fisherjs 12:04, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ok; thanks for the hints. Óðinn 05:59, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Metal observer reviews
Is not a notable site. Spearhead 08:07, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- see WP:WEB. E.g. it doesn't have a WP artcile for starters. IIRC in the past some one made an article for it, but it was removed through AfD. Anyway, a while ago some anonymous IP was spamming metal observer review links to metal articles (WP:SPAM). For the better known bands they get quickly removed (e.g. Slayer) for others they appear to stick around. There are dozens of such half-baked sites that don't need attention from WP. Spearhead 08:25, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- Really, there are dozens of these sites all around the web, none being professional at all. Imo, if the website you link to isn't on WP itself (doesn't mathc WP:WEB) it isn't worth linking. Worse, I have very strong suspects that the owners of the website have very actively added metal observer reviews to WP (thru an anonymous IP), which makes it WP:SPAM. Ever since I have been removing these links. I'll bring up a topic on WP:HMM to discuss which links should be in the album infobox as prof reviews. Spearhead 08:48, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
It doesn't make sense to add just someone's personnel opinion as a professional review. Spearhead 09:12, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- AMG is the only one I can think of at the moment. AFAIK well-known mags like Kerrang, Terrorizer, Metal Hammer, Rock Hard etc don't publish on the web yet. But try to compare it to movies. Where accepted sites such as Rottentomatoes are often linked. Along with sites as IMDB. At least they meet WP:WEB, that means other notable media value their content. Spearhead 09:23, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- AMG does have reviews (e.g. http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:n8rx281t055a). I agree however, that the quality and knowledgeabilty is always on par. WP:ALBUM lists some sources that can be used. Personally I find the whole concept of reviews debatable for inclusion in WP, as they are POV per definition. What I am a strong opponent of is web sites trying to use WP as a kind of promotion campaign, and MO has done that in the past, resulting in hundreds of ill-formed infoboxes. Other links have done the same. Anyway, if there isn't a community-accepted review source for an album, simply don't have any. Note however, that reviews of paper mags are acceptably as well, per wp:album. Spearhead 09:47, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reply
I agree that it's unecessary, however, you must remember that the Abkhazia article for example, is about two things:
- The country that exists.
- The autonomous republic in Georgia that doesn't exist but is internationally recognized.
Also note that I didn't just add the words, I replaced "separatist" with "de facto" because it sounds better. I have no objections if you remove them however. —Khoikhoi 02:49, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your userbox
I understand that you specialize in spreading anti-Georgian agenda on Wikipedia, but still your brand new userbox violates Wikipedia’s policy. WP:USER reads:
"libelling people on userpages is a bad idea, and in fact, using userpages to attack people or campaign for or against anything or anyone is a bad idea." See also WT:LIVING.
You can express your political sympathies or antipathies without offending a living person. --Kober 08:23, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I don’t remember you editing any other politics-related articles or supporting any other separatist entities. I have not noticed that this userbox also features on the page of Dimts, who although claiming that he is of Danish nationality, does nothing but to express his political views (surprisingly close to Russian nationalistic) specifically on Georgia-related talk pages. I supported my country’s sovereignty and integrity as well as its aspirations to join the EU and NATO long before Saakashvili came to power. I did not know that being a supporter of my own country made me a fan of a particular politician. My userboxes express my political views without personally attacking anyone. Try to note a difference, OK? Kober 09:57, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
-
- Yeah, I'm sure that you support Transnistria's and NK's "indepenence" and oppose any "rights of self-determination" for Kosovo and Checnhya. I just noted that you edit only the articles pertaining to Georgia's rebel regions. If you want to keep such an inflammatory userbox, it is your choice, however. It only speaks of your attitude towards civility. Period. --Kober 10:42, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
My pro-Russian sympathies DO NOT turn me into a "radical",a "Nazi" or a "Russian nationalist" (or any other word that you throw at me).I am friends with a person of Russian ethnicity who is a former refugee from Tajikistan. He triggered my interest in the post-Soviet region.
P.S Kober, can you show me my "xenophobic" quotes?I can show you yours.
Oh,and if I'm not editing politics-related pages...that doesn't mean I'm not editing other articles!Dimts 17:50, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Óðinn. I never said the userbox was xenophobic, I just wanted to point out that Wikipedia:Userboxes#Content restrictions says, "Userboxes must not be intentionally inflammatory or divisive". Then again, I'm not really an expert on the issue. If you want, I can post something at WP:AN to ask it it's acceptable or not. Cheers, Khoikhoi 01:47, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dear Óðinn,
Could you do me a favor and go to Talk:2006 Georgian-Russian espionage controversy where (as Kober claims) my "xenophobic" posts are located. Please search for any quotes which show (as Kober claims) "my anger towards other nations" or other forms of ethnic discrimination. Please post the results and your humble opinion at my discussion page.
Yours thruly,Dimts 15:09, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Totally agree with you.Oh,and look at one interesting phenomenon. When it comes to Abkhazia and South Ossetia those two are talking about "aggressive separatism",yet in the cases of Kosovo and Chechnya it's "bloody occupations".Such POV is usually called double standards.Dimts 12:46, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright problems with Image:Sacaramella.jpg
80.139.39.57 17:41, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Sacaramella.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Sacaramella.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu Badali 21:45, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Replacing a reference on Saparmurat Niyazov
I see you replaced a citation for the wife of Saparmurat Niyazov. You caused one problem when you did that. While your reference was better than the one in use, that one was the first occurence of a "named reference" which was being used in two other places further down the article. When you replaced the first occurence, you deleted the other two references which were still in use. If you see a reference like <ref name="some name">Some reference</ref>
then when you replace or delete that reference, you need to find the next occurance of that reference in the article, like <ref name="some name"/>
and replace that with a copy of the fully-formed reference you are deleting. Hope that explains things. --Dgies 17:09, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

- Your images appear to be taken from www.banknoteworld.com. I have better images for 1 ~ 50 som. And higher denominations are named in a consistent theme for all banknotes in the world. Please allow me to share your burden. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 06:26, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

- I uploaded better version for 1 ~ 50 som, and renamed 100 ~ 1000 som. The renaming process is actually "uploading another one and request deletion on the old one". Because you couldn't wait, I had to to the extra step of tagging old images. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 06:35, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rock music Wikiproject invitation
Hello WikiProject Metal member.
WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently resurrected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and embrace the links between metal and rock music in general.
Rock on.
