1979 Ryder Cup

The 23rd Ryder Cup Matches were held at the The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The United States team won the competition by a score of 17 – 11 points. This was the first time that golfers from continental Europe took part in the Ryder Cup (specifically, Spanish golfers Severiano Ballesteros and Antonio Garrido), with Team Europe replacing Team Great Britan and Ireland.
