Aló Presidente

Aló Presidente (English: Hello, president!) is a talk show hosted by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and broadcast on Venezuelan media every Sunday at 11:00 AM. Of variable format, the show broadcasts each Sunday on state-owned television and radio stations. The show features Chávez addressing topics of the day, taking phone calls from the audience, and touring locations where government social welfare programs are active.
[edit] Airing of the FTAA confidential round table debates
In the program number 239, 13 November 2005, parts of the FTAA round table debates at the Fourth Summit of the Americas which were to be held confidential were aired to the public in the name of transparency, democracy, and freedom of information. Here the FTAA was done away with and buried. A final push by US, Canadian, and other representatives failed to force a signature of agreement in favor of a so-called "free trade area"; thereby ignoring the lack of consensus necessary and recognition of failure in such systems in the development of other states. Venezuelan, and Brazilian representatives stood their ground, and with Argentina as host, refused to allow the process to be hijacked.
