Alaska Governor's Mansion

The Alaska Governor's Mansion, located at 716 Calhoun St, Juneau Alaska, is the official residence of the Governor of Alaska and his or her family. It was designed by John Knox Taylor and completed in 1936.
The current Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, moved into the mansion on December 4, 2006. The First Family of Alaska consists of Governor Sarah Palin, First Gentleman Todd Palin, First Son Track Palin (17), and First Daughters Bristol (16), Willow (12), and Piper Palin (5).
The Governor's Mansion was first occupied in 1912 by Territorial Governor Walter Eli Clark. Since then, the mansion has had many notable visitors, among them:
- President Warren G. Harding in 1923
- Charles Libbergh in 1969
- Former President Gerald R. Ford in 1989
- and Edmund de Rothschild in 1991
In 1983, the mansion underwent a $2.5 million renovation.
The number of rooms in the mansion, excluding great halls, garages, closets, and bathrooms, is twenty-six. There are ten bathrooms, six bedrooms, and eight fireplaces, amounting to a total area of 14,400 square feet.
