- Thanks for pointing that out. The most recent research, by Carolyn Gianturco (four publications in the 1990s) has April 3, 1639 as his birthdate; it was previously believed to be October 1, 1644. I wrote the first draft of this article from the 1980 Grove which had the old; the new online Grove has the April 3, 1639 date. Antandrus (talk) 03:25, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
