Andreas Granqvist (born April 16, 1985 in Helsingborg) is a Swedish football player, currently representing Wigan Athletic on loan from Helsingborgs IF. He was the captain at Helsingborgs IF.
He is generally considered one of the biggest talents among Swedish central defenders and has been linked with top European clubs on several occasions, such as FC Bayern München and Liverpool.
In January, 2007 he completed a loan move to Wigan Athletic with view to a permanent deal in the summer.[1]
He has played for the Sweden national football team.
