Andriej Kástsitsyn or Andrei Kostitsyn (born February 3, 1985 in Novopolotsk, USSR, now Belarus) is a Belarusian ice hockey forward.
Andrei currently plays for the National Hockey League's Montreal Canadiens. He was selected in the first round (10th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Habs. The consensus was he would have gone higher but teams were scared off by an epileptic condition that has been kept in check by medication.
He is an active player of the Belarusian national men's ice hockey team.
His 19-year-old brother Sergei Kostitsyn plays for the Ontario Hockey League's London Knights and is also a draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens (7th round, 200th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft).
He scored his first career NHL goal on December 13, 2005, in a game versus the Phoenix Coyotes, against Curtis Joseph.
His first goal of the 06-07 season, was scored against Andrew Raycroft, dazzling the Bell Centre crowd by shooting between the legs of both Hal Gill and Raycroft at 6:05 (elapsed time) of the first period.
In the same game, Kostitsyn scored the game-winning goal in the shootout, beating Raycroft once again and defeating the Maple Leafs.
