Angels and Demons is an upcoming feature film based on the 2000 novel of the same name by Dan Brown. Director Ron Howard, who directed The Da Vinci Code, another film adaptation of Dan Brown's work, is currently expected to return for the follow-up [1], though it is not yet known if actor Tom Hanks will reprise his role as Robert Langdon. According to iMDB, Hanks is currently 'in talks'. A release date has been set for December 19, 2008.[2]

In 2003, Sony acquired the movie rights to Angels and Demons along with The Da Vinci Code in a deal with author Dan Brown. In May 2006, following the film release of 'The Da Vinci Code, Sony hired screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, who wrote the film adaptation of The Da Vinci Code, to adapt Angels and Demons.[3]
