[edit] copyright status is disputed
Can you tell me what shall do on the copyrights on the following 2 pictures?
Bruny-Island-068.jpg & Image:Bay-of-Fires-014.jpg
p.s. I took the pictures by myself. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cedventure (talk • contribs) 01:23, 12 December 2006 (UTC).
[edit] Image:Vanessa Amorosi.PNG
Thanks for uploading Image:Vanessa Amorosi.PNG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok ☠ 22:50, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vanessa Amorosi
Should the Trivia in Vanessa Amorosi be removed as all of it is has not been verified and is not be reliable?
It possible none of its correct. Its certainly not verifiable. Ansett 02:46, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- That's what I would do. Unverified trivia is a double problem: Aside from having unverified or unverifiable "facts", trivia sections themselves are not encyclopedic. Even if the trivia section were entirely verified, it would need to be integrated properly into the text of the article as part of the history, and some of it like "Car company Mitsubishi used the song Absolutely Everybody in their television commercials" would probably warrant being deleted even if there were sources for it. See also WP:AVTRIV and WP:TRIVIA and the part of the Wikipedia:Verifiability that says unsourced material may be removed. —Centrx→talk • 02:50, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
