"Attack" is an airplay-only single by System of a Down from their latest album, Hypnotize, which was released on November 22, 2005 (see 2005 in music) as the follow up their previous album released only six months prior, Mezmerize.
According to bassist Shavo Odadjian, [1] the album was originally set to open with an instrumental track called "Hezze," but was instead dropped entirely in favor of beginning with "Attack." "We wanted to start out the album really heavy," Odadjian explained. It is expected that "Hezze" will be released sometime in the future on an EP.
Musically, the song features fast guitar work, blast beats, and shouted vocals, broken up by more melodic choruses.
