Austext is an Australian teletext service based in Brisbane, and is carried by the Seven Network and it's affiliates over most of Australia. It carries news, finance information, weather, lottery results, a TV guide and other information. The service is viewable on any television, computer or other device with teletext functionality.
The Austext service has recently been upgraded, with Seven Network using newer technology to improve the service.[citation needed]
Subtitles for programs on the Seven Network are also included in the Austext carousel. When produced by the Australian Caption Centre they can be referred to as Supertext , those provided by other providers are often known as "Closed Captions".
