Beckenham Junction is a railway station and a tram terminus in Beckenham, southeast London. It is in the London Borough of Bromley and Travelcard Zone 4, 8.6 miles (13.8 km) from London Victoria.
The station is at the higher end of the high street, between Waitrose and St George's Church. Trains operate between Kent and Victoria and to local stations in South London, including Gipsy Hill, Orpington, Bromley South and Brixton. Eurostar trains pass through without stopping. There are five platforms: two through, two bay and one Tramlink.
Just outside the railway station building are a bus stop and the terminus for Tramlink Route 2 services from East and West Croydon.
[edit] History
The station was opened by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR) on 1 January 1857 as the terminus of the line from Lewisham; it became a junction on 7 July 1858 when the Bromley Junction (north of Norwood Junction) - Bickley line was opened by the LCDR.
