I am not sure whether this page should consist of Konami artists only, or it should be including non-original artists too, like E-rotic. SYSS Mouse 02:56, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)

It is my opinion that there's nothing wrong with including non-Konami artists. E-Rotic for instance has had dozens of songs in rhythm games, thus I don't think it'd be incorrect for them to be included in the list. After all, it's simply more categories for an artist. Agreed with Ameltzer. I believe that as long as an artist either works for Konami or has produced at least two or three official songs that persist (by "persist" I mean songs that last for more than a mix, unlike those licensed for DDR USA home releases) for bemani games he/she/they deserve to be mentioned. --Kamek 22:02, Aug 26, 2004 (UTC)

I disagree - I think that at the very least the Konami Original and licenced artists should have their own section, although including licenced artists is so unspecific that I don't see the benefit in doing it at all, considering a full list would have any artist whose work had been licenced at all for any Bemani (and that's a lot of artists, far more than the core group of Konami original artists and artists actually contracted to write music *for* Bemani that people are going to be more interested in). I would not personally visit the Bemani artists category looking for information on 2 Unlimited or Geri Halliwell - to me, allowing licenced artists needlessly clutters the list. --Xythar

What about Antonio Vivaldi ("The Four Seasons: Winter", aka "V"), and Ludwig van Beethoven (Für Elise)? Or Earth wind and fire (Fantasy)? -- Melissa

They didn't release actual songs for DDR. Rather, Naoki, TAKA and others made their own adaptations of those songs. Just like the Symphony No. 9 (Beethoven) is way longer than that part in "End of the Century" --Kamek 06:26, Sep 4, 2004 (UTC)

Agree with Kamek. So there would be no link to Olivia Newton-John (Have you Never Been Mellow and Xanadu), Aqua (Cartoon Heroes), Queen (band) (We Are the Champions and We Will Rock You SEE News of the World) While Smile.DK, 2 Unlimited, Captain Jack (no article exists yet), Me & My, JOGA, etc. would have link (if such articles exist). Agree with Kamek, disagree with Xythar. 2 Unlimited should be there (more than one song, Twilight Zone is very popular), Geri Halliwell shouldn't.

Why shouldn't Geri Halliwell? She did have a song in DDR. The Weather Girls (whom she covered), however should not. I don't think just because somebody does a cover that appears in a Bemani title that they should be excluded. If they appear in a Bemani title, they should be listed as a Bemani artist. Duran Duran's The Reflex was in DDR Max 2, should they be excluded? If we're precluding artists by the sheer fact that a song wasn't made specifically for a Bemani title means we're going to have a pretty short (and inaccurate) list. -- Ameltzer 20:57, 22 Oct 2004 (UTC)

As someone who knows next to nothing about the game, I don't believe this Category should be included on something like Duran Duran, when their contribution was so tiny that it doesn't even appear in the band's article (nor should it -- Duran's work has been licensed for countless purposes). Wouldn't this be better suited to a List of Bemani artists, or List of artists whose work has been licensed for Bemani, rather than a category? I'll wait for compelling arguments one way or the other, but I'm inclined to remove the category from the article soon unless convinced. — Catherine\^talk 02:11, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Duran Duran isn't particularly significant to DDR, so I'd say take it off, and yes a list would be better. Ameltzer will disagree... Kappa 02:36, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Here's a suggestion: with artists that have had at least one song appear on a Bemani game (so that would cover everyone from Geri Halliwell and Duran Duran to Captain Jack and The Olivia Project), and sub-category which specifically covers the ones employed by Konami such as Naoki and THL.
