Benihana (skateboarding trick)

The benihana is an aerial skateboarding trick that was invented by Lester Kasai and named after the Benihana restaurant chain.
A benihana is performed by first getting airborne (for example from a vert ramp or an ollie) then grabbing the tail with the back hand and straightening the front foot while still keeping it on the board. When the front foot is extended the back foot and the tail of the board is brought close to the inner thigh of the front leg.
This trick was very popular in the early 1990s particularly when done down stair sets by pros such as Jamie Thomas and Josh Kasper, but its popularity has waned since then.
