Jamie Thomas

Jamie Thomas is a professional skateboarder from Dothan, Alabama. He was born on October 11, 1974. He started skateboarding at the age of eleven. He has been a pro skateboarder for over 14 years and is the President of Black Box Distribution. In 2006, he won a prestigious "Entrepreneur of the Year" award from Ernst & Young.

Thomas was first sponsored by Toy Machine, which was founded by Ed Templeton, and then he broke off from Toy machine to start his own companies. He is now the founder of Zero Skateboards, Mystery Skateboards, Fallen Footwear and rides for Thunder Trucks. He is married with two children and resides in Encinitas, California.

Thomas started Zero Skateboards in 1996 and assembled a team of young "up and comers" including Matt Mumford and Adrian Lopez.

The first Zero video "Thrill Of It All" (1997) featured Jamie's attempt at what would be coined "The Leap Of Faith", an eighteen-foot, eight-inch drop over a handrail at Point Loma High School in San Diego, California. His board snapped immediately upon impact. However, Jamie walked away unscathed and supposedly has not attempted to try it again. Several other skateboarders have attempted The Leap of Faith, but none have been publicly successful.

Jamie Thomas has appeared in many other videos including 'Misled Youth', 'Dying to Live', 'New Blood', 'Reason to Believe', 'Thrill of it all", Transworld's Chomp on This and many more. He has also appeared as himself as a playable character in the THPS-THPS4 series and Tony Hawk's Underground. He is also known for being one of a number of Christian Skateboarders.

In 2004-2006, Thomas also led a Zero team to three-straight victories the annual "King of the Road" summer road trip contest . The annual contest is organized by Thrasher Magazine.
