Bridgend railway station (Welsh: Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr) is a railway station that serves town of Bridgend in South Wales. It is located on the South Wales Main Line to Swansea, and the Maesteg Line to Maesteg. It is the terminus of the Vale of Glamorgan Line from Cardiff via Barry and Llantwit Major.
Passenger services are operated by First Great Western for express trains, and Arriva Trains Wales for local services.
The station has 4 platforms, 1A, 1, 2 and the rarely used platform 3. Platforms 1 and 2 are full length platforms used for almost all services including the Swansea to London high speed service. Platform 1A was opened in July 2005 by Andrew Davies to act as the terminus for the newly re-opened Vale of Glamorgan Line, it is now also used for the service to Aberdare. Platform 3 has long been redundant, but has been re-commissioned to be used as an overflow platform and is often used for the Bridgend to Maesteg service.
