Dingle Road railway station is a railway station serving the town of Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. It is located on the Penarth branch of the Vale of Glamorgan Line from Cardiff to Penarth.
Dingle Road is unusual for being on a gradient or slope. The gradient to get to Dingle Road is very steep, which has caused many of Arriva's Class 142 and Class 143 to fail, or to crawl up the gradient if the train is running on just one engine instead of two.
The second platform, which is visible in the photo, has been disused since the 1960s and the Beeching Axe.
Passenger services from this station are operated by Arriva Trains Wales as part of the Valley Lines network.
The station at this location was first opened by the Taff Vale Railway as a halt in 1904[1].
