Brock "Chooka" McLean (born April 11, 1986) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the AFL’s Melbourne Football Club.
Brock, a graduate of the AIS/AFL academy, and member of the U18 International Rules team, was selected as Melbourne's second pick and 5th overall in the 2003 AFL Draft.
McLean debuted in 2004 and showing instant maturity and decision making ability quickly became one of the most consistent midfielders in the side.
A supergoal in the NAB Cup signalled McLean would be a force in the AFL, finishing the season with 9 games.
McLean finished his debut year at forth in the 2005 AFL Rising Star, finishing with 20 games for the year and polling an impressive 9 Brownlow Medal votes in his second year of football.
McLean's 2006 season was interrupted by leg and hamstring injuries, but when playing he had immediate impact and was sorely missed when not available for selection.
He's also the inspiration for the 'Official Mini-Ox Squad'. The squad decided, in 2005, to give McClean the nickname Mini-Ox after his early, bullocking performances impressed them. The nickname 'Mini-Ox' is due to Brock being #5 - and the similarities to 'The Ox' (David Schwartz) which are obvious. The 'Official Mini-Ox Squad' sits in The Great Southern Stand.
