"Broken City" is the sixth track by Audioslave form their third album Revelations.
Broken City was one of the few songs that Chris Cornell wrote on the road. Detroit was the city that inspired Chris Cornell on writing those lyrics, which was the industrial center of the United States for long time, Chris Cornell said: "Detroit was the industrial center of the United States for the longest time, and now when you ride through Detroit you see these beautiful industrial buildings, what once was kind of the center of the universe now it's kind of abandoned, I have never seen anything like it, it's on one hand beautiful and from the other very eerie.". But the song has also a positive side, it explains the origins of the city and there's still life in there.
