Butterfingers is an Australian hip hop group, from Brisbane, Queensland. They are signed to the independent label Valley Trash Records. Butterfingers are known very well on the underground Australian Music Scene for their trademark crude humour, which appears in songs such as, "Everytime," and "FIGJAM". More recent work from Butterfingers has been declared commercially successful, like "Get up Outta the Dirt", which was performed on Rove Live in 2006. Today, Butterfingers are known for selling out shows around Australia, and specifically in Brisbane.

[edit] History
The group was formed when lead vocalist Eddie "Evil Eddie" Jacobson booked himself in for a gig at The Zoo, a bar in Brisbane, without a band or any intentions of performing solo. The venue held Jacobson's booking to him and after two weeks of panic and a sloppy debut performance, the band was formed.
Their first two singles "Everytime" and "I Love Work", became instant hits with listeners of Australia's national alternative radio station, Triple J, when they were released in 2003. They reached positions 15 and 38 respectively in the Triple J Hottest 100 of that year. The band also performed at Livid in 2003.
In May 2004 they released their first album, Breakfast at Fatboys, and toured nationally in late 2004.
In June 2005 they released their new singles, "FIGJAM" and "Jesus I Was Evil" (a cover of the song by Darcy Clay), both songs went into high rotation on Triple J and placed 11th and 69th respectively in the 2005 Triple J Hottest 100. In October 2005, "FIGJAM" was nominated for the Best Urban Release ARIA Award.
The group's latest single "Get Up Outta The Dirt", was released on the June 3, 2006, and this also has been hitlisted by Triple J. The band released a new album, The Deeper You Dig... on May 27, 2006.
The group have released a new single entitled "I Like Em When They're Trouble" from the album and around its release, it received airplay on Triple J, like all of Butterfingers' singles released beforehand. A video was made for this song and had received attention from the music television shows, jtv and Video Hits. The group was also interviewed on the show Backstage Pass by host Angela Pulvirenti.
