The song was only released as a single in Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Japan. The single's release down under coincided with the Australian leg of her "Girlie Show" tour. Madonna also performed "Bye Bye Baby" live at the VMA's in September 1993.
The photograph on the sleeve of "Bye Bye Baby" was shot by American fashion photographer Herb Ritts.
There was no video for this song. She had used the live performance from The Girlie Show Tour as a video.
