[edit] Original series
Caprica is established in the original series as belonging to the group of "inner planets".
Caprica contains Caprica City and the city of Umbra amongst other locales.
[edit] Re-imagined series
The episodes of the re-imagined series depict what happens to the planet and some of the human survivors who remained on Caprica in the aftermath of the attack. Over time, Caprica's lush green colour slowly fades to a dull brown as fallout of the Cylon nuclear attacks begin to destroy the environment. As viewed from the surface, Caprica's blue sky turns to a hazy orange. The human survivors are faced with the threat of both radiation poisoning and Cylon attempts to occupy the planet. The Cylons eventually abandon Caprica, however, in accordance with a shift in their ultimate goals.
The capital of Caprica and the Twelve Colonies of Kobol is Caprica City. Another city on Caprica is Delphi, which contains the Museum of the Colonies. [1]
Caprica was the leading world of the Twelve Colonies, the center of culture, science and technology, and government. [2]
At the end of the second season of the re-imagined series, the fleet of human refugees, under escort of Galactica, discover a new world to inhabit and dub it "New Caprica".
