Tech bankruptcies have bumped up vacancies at the properties owned by his Mission West Properties REIT to 20%, but he claims he's doing better than the Silicon Valley average.
Divides his time among assorted tech investments such as consulting firm International Network Services, which he bought from Lucent Technologies in 2002.
Carl E. Berg, while best known for his Mission West Properties REIT, is also one of the principals of Berg & Berg Enterprises LLC, the $350,000,000 private venture arm of Carl Berg and related Berg entities, with investments in over 100 companies around the world. Investments focus on Silicon Valley technology companies including chip, wireless, networking and communications.
BBENT is the majority shareholder in International Networks Services (“INS”) which he purchased from Lucent in 2002.
