Carl Sagan Memorial Award

The Carl Sagan Memorial Award is an award given to an individual or group with outstanding contributions to research or policies advancing exploration of the Cosmos. The award is given jointly by the American Astronautical Society (AAS) and the Planetary Society and it has been awarded every year since 1997. It was named in honor of the American astronomer, astrobiologist and science popularizer, Carl Sagan (1934 – 1996).
