Carla Azar

Carla Azar is a drummer from Huntsville, Alabama, USA. She is the drummer for the Los Angeles based band, Autolux. Autolux signed to DMZ Records in 2003. DMZ was founded by the highly respected musician/record producer, T Bone Burnett and the Coen Brothers. Autolux consists of two other members: Eugene Goreshter - lead singer, bass player and Greg Edwards - guitarist. In 2001, Azar shattered her elbow at the end of a long fall from a very high stage and underwent a successful surgery to reconstruct the bones in her elbow.
Carla did a small tour of Japan with Vincent Gallo in 2002 to support his record "When". In 2005, Carla played on T-bone Burnett's latest solo record along with legendary drummer Jim Keltner and guitarist Marc Ribot. She also recorded the minimalistic drums on John Frusciante's predominantly acoustic 2004 album 'Curtains'.
In the late 1980's to the early 1990's, she was drummer/percussionist for Wendy & Lisa's band.
