Cassine is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 70 km southeast of Turin and about 20 km southwest of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,015 and an area of 33.5 km2.[1]
The municipality of Cassine contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Caranzano, Gavonata, and Sant'Andrea.
Cassine borders the following municipalities: Alice Bel Colle, Castelnuovo Bormida, Gamalero, Maranzana, Mombaruzzo, Ricaldone, Rivalta Bormida, Sezzadio, and Strevi.
