Catford railway station serves the London suburb of Catford. Mainly used by commuters, it is on the line from Blackfriars to Sevenoaks, between Crofton Park and Bellingham in Travelcard Zone 3. Connections to London Victoria and London Bridge are available at Peckham Rye.

It is next to, and on a higher level than, Catford Bridge railway station with the former Catford Stadium separating the two. Interchange on one ticket is allowed between the two stations.

There is only a small shelter, ticket machine, a few lamp-posts and a stairway on each of the 2 otherwise empty platforms; unlike the more ornate station at Catford Bridge railway station, which has retained most of its original architecture.

The typical off-peak service is:

• 2 trains per hour (tph) on Monday to Saturday to London Blackfriars calling at all stations via Peckham Rye
• 2tph on Sunday to London Victoria calling at all stations via Peckham Rye

• 2tph to Sevenoaks via Bromley South and Swanley.

• The second episode of the 1979 LWT comedy series End of Part One includes the main characters watching a film called "The Life of Christopher Columbus". In the film, Columbus goes to a tube station and asks for a train to America, but is told he can only go as far as Catford. Part of a modified tube map is shown which shows the fictitious tube stations Lewisham, Ladywell, Edge of the World and Catford on the East London Section of the Metropolitan Line south from New Cross tube station. There is an actual part of the mainline Mid-Kent Railway that interchanges with New Cross tube station, and the stations are, southwards in order: St. John's, Lewisham, Ladywell and Catford Bridge (Catford on a different line interchanges with the latter).
